The beach at Woolacombe is the focus of the village due to its Blue Flag beach status. With three miles of golden sand stretching across to Putsborough beach it is a stunning sight and a huge playground for you to enjoy!
Primarily a tourism town, you may find that many of the activities shut down over the winter months leaving you with the town and beach to explore in peace and tranquility!
Woolacombe has many surf shops and eateries, but the closest high street stores would be found in Ilfracombe.
A bit of history:
The adjoining village of Mortehoe is a pretty stone built village which has many ancient buildings including a 13th Century church and was even mentioned in the Doomsday book. It is also home to many wrecking and smuggling tales!
